Catalog Design for Norm Thompson Outfitters
While working at Norm Thompson Outfitters, I created the layout for 18 unique catalogs per year. Each catalog was around 88 pages. I also planned and directed location photo shoots, art directed laydown photography in studio, collaborated with our in-house copy team and worked with our color separator during proofing rounds for post production.
Photo Guidelines for Norm Thompson Outfitters
I often look for opportunities to streamline work and initiate "best practices". An example of this was a photo guidelines manual I created while at Norm Thompson. We would photograph 40-50 gourmet food products each year to add to our catalog we sent around the holidays. I would art direct and work with a food stylist and photographer during the 1-2 week photoshoot. Creating guidelines helped with consistency, collaboration and visual storytelling.
E-Commerce Work for Norm Thompson Outfitters
At Norm Thompson, I also worked on a re-branding project for the menswear business. I created new concepts for catalog designs and also mocked up a fresh approach for the online presence. I also established the seasonal direction and managed the web designer on staff.
Branding Projects for Gold Violin
I created a Brand Guide for one of the sister brands to Norm Thompson, a catalog called Gold Violin. This was used as internal direction for creative and merchandising, to revamp the look and feel of the catalog, and provide insight into the customer.
